What is WorkLifeSpark?
This is our online community, focused on development across the three core areas of our professional focus: wellbeing, productivity and effectiveness.
WorkLifeSpark is the new online personal development community from WorkLifePsych. It’s for professionals who want to take charge of their own development, and get support and accountability from a community of like-minded peers.
Our ethos is simple: we can learn so much when we learn together, and in doing so, we can create a spark of interest and curiosity that can eventually transform our experience of work.
With a regular calendar of events, the opportunity to upgrade your membership as needed, and access to the WorkLifePsych coaching team – along with expert guest presenters – the emphasis is very much on quality.
Participate in an ongoing online chat with your fellow members. Drop in for an ‘Office Hours’ session to discuss your development. Have a coffee while enjoying a ‘Learn at Lunch’ briefing. Settle in for an impactful skills Masterclass. Take part in a monthly skills challenge. Dip in to our library of digital guides and resources. You can do as much or as little as you like, or your schedule permits.
And as all our events are recorded, you can come back to catch up at a time that suits you. On a device that suits you.
Who is it for?
Simply put, Spark is for anyone who is interested in their own development. It might be building their self-awareness, boosting their confidence, beating their procrastination, adapting to a new level of seniority or navigating an organisational change.
Whether you’re taking your first steps in the world of work, leading others, or looking ahead to winding up your career, you’ll find something to meet your needs.
- Perhaps you’re an independent expert or contractor. Without corporate organisational support to arrange training and development, you might neglect it in the face of everyday busyness. Though always feeling that nagging doubt that you ‘should’ be doing something about it.
- Maybe you’re at the very start of your career and wondering how you’ll acquire the important skills and insights that contribute to success at work, along with a healthy integration of work with the rest of your life.
- You might be a professional who feels their organisation’s L&D offering doesn’t meet their needs. Without access to a professional coach, you may worry that your development is suffering. With Spark membership you can get access to high quality coaching and training at a fraction of what you’d pay for any single course.
- It could be that you’re running a small business, but haven’t needed any HR or people development support just yet. You can buy access to Spark for your whole business, safe in the knowledge they’ll have flexible and continuous access to a rich stream of development-focused content and quality learning opportunities.
What do members get?
Learn at Lunch briefings
Each month, we’ll run a session covering the month’s development theme, outline our community challenge and share how you can start putting the concept into practice immediately. Over the next 12 months, we’ll be looking at the role of values, learning how to build personal resilience, developing self-compassion and getting that to-do list under control.
'After hours' Q&A sessions
Our quarterly ‘After hours’ sessions give you the opportunity join us live for a Q&A session with a selection of our podcast guests. Imagine the podcast recording is over and we’ve all settled back to discuss the topic in more detail. The perfect opportunity to hear it direct from some of the world’s experts in the psychology of work and development.
Monthly challenges
Each month in our calendar will have a themed focus, and each of these will include a community challenge. It could be about developing a new habit, addressing some procrastination, or experimenting with a new thinking skill. You’ll get the perfect mix of support, accountability and online chat to keep you going!
Member chat
Use our forum to chat with your fellow members, seek advice and inspiration, and learn from the wealth of experience that our members bring to the community.
Masterclasses (Plus)
Each quarter, we run one of our core masterclasses for members on our Plus membership tier. Covering skills and topics centred on our core themes of productivity, wellbeing and interpersonal effectiveness. Participate live, or watch the recording afterward – whatever works best for you and your schedule. The key thing is turning your insights into action and bringing your new skills to life.
Office hours (Plus)
Each month, we have a drop-in group Zoom call for Plus and Pro members, to discuss all aspects of your personal development. Making change, experimenting with new approaches, tracking your habits – whatever its most relevant to you. Stay for as long as you like, send your questions by email in advance, or simply watch the recording at a time that suits you.
Digital library (Plus)
Get access to professionally-created guides, fact sheets and checklists to support your learning and development. From values clarification, to habit formation, weekly review templates and guides to resilience. These are the resources we share with our executive coachees and attendees at our masterclasses and workshops around the world.
Is it free or paid?
We have both free and paid levels of membership. The free tier gives access to ‘Learn at Lunch’ sessions, ‘After hours…’ events, ongoing member chats and all the digital resources shared as part of day to day postings.
Paid members get access to our digital library of guides and worksheets, get to join our monthly ‘Office Hours’ Q&A sessions, and can join each quarterly masterclass.
