Ep 152: The dark side of goals
In this episode, Richard is joined by fellow psychologist and coach, Dr. Rachael Skews, for a conversation about the downsides of goals.
While goals can be a great tool for focusing our energy and motivation, we can easily jump onto the bandwagon of inauthentic or unrealistic goals. We can also engage in unsustainable behaviours and strategies, in order to reach a goal – potentially causing more problems for ourselves and others.
We look at the role of cultivating habits, rather than setting goals, and ensuring all our energies are directed in alignment with our values.
Thanks for listening and do please get in touch with your questions about goals, values and habits.
