I was invited to speak at the recent AGR (Association for Graduate Recruiters) Development Conference in London and my presentation was recorded. So I’m sharing the video below.
Firstly, thanks again to Claire and the team for inviting me to speak and thanks to the delegates for the very warm reception. Attended by development professionals from across the UK, the focus on was on the learning and development needs of recent graduate entrants to the workplace.
I was tasked with giving a “TED-style” talk on the experience of graduates as they leave the university campus and enter the workplace. So, minimal use of slides and a clear story. Let me know if you think I succeeded!
I used the metaphor of international travel to describe the adjustments people make as they move from one culture to another, very different one.
Cast your mind back to your first days at work…does any of this resonate with you? Are you a recent graduate entrant to the workplace – have I accurately captured your experience?
