I’m very much looking forward to next month’s Division of Occupational Psychology annual conference in Chester. Aside from running a workshop on the Dimensions personality questionnaire, I’m going to be participating in a professional forum on Work-Life Balance, organised by Prof. Gail Kinman and Dr. Almuth McDowall and featuring Prof. Ellen Kossek.
We’ll be reviewing some contemporary challenges in the work-life balance domain, including addressing the needs of those without caring responsibilities, the impact of flexible working initiatives and the very term “work-life balance”.
The latter is something I’ve previous discussed on this blog, pointing out its inherent limitations.
I look forward to sharing some of the discussion and reflections here next month.
