Despite its prevalence, there’s still a significant stigma attached to discussing loneliness at work.
And this stigma can prevent people sharing their experience of loneliness with others and taking the helpful steps requirement to combat it. As we discussed previously, loneliness can have significant negative impacts on our relationships, our productivity and, of course, on our wellbeing. Even going so far as to erode our immune system over time.
This is in part why we launched our ‘Connect and Thrive‘ initiative a few months back. In addition to the free digital resources we’ve made available, and the webinar we recorded, I’ve used podcasts to get the message out there to the biggest possible audience.
So I’m delighted to share that I’m going to be a guest on Ross McIntosh’s excellent ‘People Soup‘ podcast next week. And not only that, we’ll be recording live – meaning you can join us and ask any questions about loneliness you’d like.
It’s completely free, you just need to register using this link: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/peoplesoup/956146
Maybe you’re a team leader or people manager and want a better understanding of loneliness and what to look out for. Maybe you’re an HR professional looking to understand how to make loneliness a priority for your wellbeing initiatives at work. Or perhaps you’re just interested in learning more about the topic. All are very welcome.
I’m really looking forward to discussing this important topic with Ross, and in particular, some of the simple things we can each do to better connect with those around us.
I look forward to seeing you on Fri 28th July!
