Upcoming work-life balance event

I’m grateful to have been invited to present at an exciting event in London next month.

I’m speaking at the Division of Occupational Psychology’s Work-Life Balance One Day Event. It takes place in London on June 10th and you can book a place via the event’s website. The focus of the presentations will be diversity and difference in the area of work-life balance – something I’m extremely passionate about.

In case my presence isn’t enough to encourage you to come along (!!), it’s worth noting that other invited speakers include:

Prof. Gail Kinman – University of Bedfordshire

Dr. Almuth McDowall – University of Surrey

Prof. Mustafa Ozbilgin – Brunel University

Prof. Ellen Kossek – Michigan State University

The various presentations on the day will cover the need to adopt a more diversity-sensitive approach when examining the work-life balance concept, considering the diverse nature of the UK’s working population.

I will be arguing for sensitivity to the work-life balance needs of single employees and also the gay and lesbian population.

Both groups experience challenges to their work-life balance in the workplace, often resulting in unfair treatment (or the perception thereof) simply due to their relationship status.
