New podcast series: PsychFlex in Action

  • December 19, 2019
  • Dr. Richard MacKinnon
  • Podcast, Psychological flexibility
  • My Pocket Psych, People Soup, podcast, psychological flexibility, Ross McIntosh

Some of the first ever episodes of our podcast, ‘My Pocket Psych‘, focused on the concept of Psychological Flexibility. This is a concept that’s all about developing a different relationship with our thoughts and feelings, so that we can take action in the ‘real world’ that’s more effective and helpful.

A couple of years on, we thought it was time to have another look. This time round, we’re dedicating a longer series of episodes to the topic. We call it ‘PsychFlex in Action’. It’s all about how to better understand the principles of Psychological Flexibility and how to put them into practice in the real world.

We want to make this information available to as wide an audience as possible, so if you find our discussions useful, do pass on a link or recommendation to colleagues and friends.

Starting with episode 53, we’re looking at Psychological Flexibility in more depth, featuring more experts and diverse perspectives. We’ll look at how it can support coaching, how mindful noticing can release us from automatic responses, how organisations can adopt a more flexible approach and how we can each work past psychological discomfort to pursue the goals that are really meaningful to us.

You can start by listening to Ross McIntosh and Dr. Richard MacKinnon discuss how to introduce the skills of PsychFlex in diverse organisational settings, along with the importance of clarity of values and putting them into action. Ross is the host of ‘People Soup‘ podcast, an excellent series on how to be more psychologically flexible in a variety of contexts.

And as ever, please do get in touch with your comments and questions. We love to hear from our listeners!
